From Friday 9th May Year 12 student, Zoe Anderson, took part in the Asia Pacific Sprint Cup. This event was held on Lake Kiba in Japan and the event itself was initiated by Australia, New Zealand and Japan as host nations to develop U21 paddling sport in the Asia Pacific region.

Zoe has been working hard in the build up to this event, and has done a lot of sponsoring in order to attend. The event was created to provide development and international racing opportunities for young athletes while providing them experience in preparation for participation in the U18 and U23 World Championship selection.

As a College we are very proud of Zoe and the commitment and hard work she has displayed in her field. Zoe’s results from the Asia Pacific Canoe Sprint were as follows:

1st place U16 Women K4 500m
2nd place U16 Women K2 500m
3rd place U16 Women K1 500m

(K1,K2 and K4 refer to the number of people in the boat).

We continue to watch Zoe’s rise in the paddling sport area with both interest and pride.
